Sustainable?
365 days of trying to keep things on an even keel was a huge challenge for us across the company. The mission: to provide stability and be a reliable partner. What bound us together was our shared conviction: We’ll get there somehow.
We needed to adjust, rethink our processes, change our perspective – yet we did so successfully: During the crisis, we were and still are able to deliver, thus being a reliable partner for our customers. Reliable supply and availability of materials needed was a matter of survival for the trades. Thanks to our being considered essential business, the industry has been working uninterruptedly throughout the pandemic.
On top, our multi-channel industry offered customers the proper solutions for contactless material procurement. Our digitalization strategy with on line shop, e-procurement and Würth App is perfectly synchronized with stationary procurement in the pick-up shops. Our sales representatives have supported our customers in changing over to digital sales channels, yet remain their personal consultants – owing to the pandemic not on site, yet on the phone and at the laptop.
The Group’s international orientation with more than 400 companies in more than 80 countries boosts our stability in times of crisis. Thanks to the wide variety of different industries serviced, we are not dependent on a single economic sector and international supply chains. More than 70% of our products originate in Germany and Europe.
We invest greatly in innovations to remain a future-oriented business and employer for our employees also in the years and decades to come. The official opening of the Innovation Center at headquarters in Künzelsau is scheduled for 2022. The total amount invested comes to about EUR 70 million. State-of-the-art laboratories and workshops are being built on an area of 15,000 square meters.
